I do not think Kindle is worth for $359 for a colorless book software. I would rather buy a book for $10 instead of having a pocket book.
I think Kindle can help educationally because you can have your textbook mobile using the Kindle software. For english teachers, instead of handing out old, practicly destroyed books, you can read on a brand new Kindle machine. You no longe have to carry you huge books home, with the Kindle, you are only carrying onces of weight saving your back from 50 pounds of books. The prime audiance for the Kindle are 30-50 years old who likes to read books and not carry books around; but instead carry inside your pocket. Kindle's advantage over their competitiors is that they have amazon on their side to support them. They also have great authors like Steven King promoting their product and allowing them to use his works for Kindle users to read. No other company has developed a software for reading books yet. I wouldd probely never purchase a Kindle because I wouldn't like to read a book on a small screen like that. I would rather carry around a book and read it like we are used to doing. The factor that would keep me away is the fact that your not reading on paper, your reading on a small screen. You eyes would get sore looking at a screen for vast amounts of time. I really hope that Apple puts them out of buisness. WIth the I-Touch and the I-Phone, I think it would be just as easy to transfer as the Kindle. Apple already has audiobooks for I-Tunes. The next thing they should do is offer word books for the I-Touch and I-Phone. I think they would put Kindle out of buisness. For only $100 more, you can buy an I-Touch with the same features as Kindle, plus Apps, Music, TV, games, and Movies.
